McDonald’s is the world’s largest chain of hamburger fast food restaurant. It was founded in 1940 in San Bernardino, California, USA.

The famous Golden Arches logo of McDonald’s was created by Jim Schindler in 1962. The logo was inspired by the new arch shaped signs on the sides of the restaurants, and by merging the two golden arch shaped signs together, the famous “M” was formed.

The “M” is apparently a customized design and not available as a font, but a font was actually created to imitate the “M” style. The font is called Mclawsuit, which was designed by Jesse Burgheimer. The font is available in 99 characters with lowercase letters unavailable.

Rationale:
This is a font based entirely on the McDonald's "Golden arches." You know, the "M." I just took the original logo and sliced it up and pasted it together into an entire alphabet. It includes A-Z, 0-9, and all general punctuation, and keyboard characters.

The reason this font is called McLawsuit is that Micky-D's is valiant in protecting the intellectual property of their products, and it mostly comes across as pure dominance. But maybe they'll dig this font instead of wanting to slap me with some Cease and Desist order. Have you had your break today?

Click on the "Download" button, save the font file on your hard disk.

Under Windows Vista : Select the font files (.ttf, .otf or .fon) then Right-click > Install

Under any version of Windows : Place the font files (.ttf, .otf or .fon) into the Fonts folder, usually C:\Windows\Fonts or C:\WINNT\Fonts
(can be reached as well by the Start Menu > Control Panel > Appearance and Themes > Fonts).

Tip : if you punctually need a font, you don't need to install it. Just double-click on the .ttf file, and while the preview window is opened you can use it in most of the programs you'll launch (apart from a few exceptions like OpenOffice).

How to install a font under Mac OS ? Download Font

Under Mac OS X 10.3 or above (including the FontBook) : Double-click the font file > "Install font" button at the bottom of the preview.

Under any version of Mac OS X : Put the files into /Library/Fonts (for all users) or into /Users/Your_username/Library/Fonts (for you only).
